5th Annual Advocacy Day
Your voice matters! Massachusetts has one of the highest per-capita state budgets for Suicide Prevention across the nation due to advocacy, strong leadership and coalition building across the state. Yet, suicide rates are still increasing and there is more work to be done. Join together with other advocates on Advocacy Day 2020 and raise your voice for enhancing essential Suicide Prevention activities across the Commonwealth!
You are invited to join the Massachusetts Coalition for Suicide Prevention and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention for the 5th Annual Advocacy Day on April 15, 2020. Advocacy Day brings together passionate volunteers to advocate for policy changes that will improve mental health and prevent suicide across the state of Massachusetts.
Attendees will meet with legislators to:
- Share why suicide prevention is important to you and your community
- Educate about the work being done in your community to prevent suicide
- Teach what must be sustained and enhanced across the state to prevent suicide
This event will include a brief training session on the basics of an effective advocacy visit and current policy issues followed by in-person visits that will be scheduled ahead of time.
Registration is required. Visit the MA Coalition for Suicide Prevention’s website at https://www.masspreventssuicide.org/ to register for this important event.
